Yeah, they do get a bit crazy. I swear Elvis was absolutely shocked when Attila went after him for even looking at herI prefer to eat my chicken plucked and cooked.
She is sweet when not broody. When she hatches chicks she will let me handle them and even sits in my lap with them. She just turns evil when she is broody.
The surprised BAGAWK that came from him was hilarious, and the incredulous look on his face was priceless.I did, even rode the electric cart at Walmart when we went shopping. I gotta keep getting up and moving or my heel gets tight and then hurts worse; short activity, then short rest seems to work.Ouch. You probably should stay off of it for a couple of days.
This is the part I miss with broody raised chicks. My girls won’t let me near the babies for a while and by the time they do they’re not tiny like this. They are so cute!
Do you have planters fasciitis?I did, even rode the electric cart at Walmart when we went shopping. I gotta keep getting up and moving or my heel gets tight and then hurts worse; short activity, then short rest seems to work.

I went to give ice to the bigs and boys and some cool water to the littles. Since I don’t want to invest much time or money in the temporary housing I used a box from Chewy to make a hideout for the littles. They’ve been under there all day so it must be good. Tomorrow morning I’m going to put a small branch that broke off one of the lilacs in there for them to play on. Based on feathering I think the silver laced Wyandottes are 7-9 days old and the other is 5-7 days. I’m hoping the other is a blue Australorp, but it’s pretty dark. I don’t remember the other breeds that were in the bin.
Sounds like they are off to a good start IM!
