I know the hens and neighbors probably appreciate it, but it wouldn't be the same around here without a few roosters...it would be much quieter though.

I'm not sure what its called but I think its a spring contest. The blooms don't have to bloom in the spring though.

I miss having a rooster in some ways, and the crowing never bothered me. Phoenix was really after the ducks though and making them quack all day, plus the crowing all night. It was just easier and not having to worry about a broody sitting on fertile eggs is a plus too. I’m not in the mood to deal with chicks.
