Do you think you guys will ever end up back in CA?
Only to visit. It was filthy the last time we were there. Weeds growing high enough to obscure the center divider and trash all over the freeway. We don't like the politics and they have hilarious ideas about gun rights and other freedoms.

DH spent some time in CA when he was in the Navy. He has no desire to go back either. I've never been but will agree 100% with you on that last sentence ;)

I don't blame you from what I have heard about over there. I'm glad that I don't have any relatives over there that I would have to go visit.

This has been a busy day already and it's only noon. After I let the chickens out this morning I built a dam on the low side of the lemon tree and some shrubs to slow the water runoff. We have big chunks of tree trunk and large limbs so I put those down and built the dirt up around them while it was wet. I've found the sun and heat bake it and it works pretty well.

I planted ginger today, dug up the hibiscus and made the hole deeper before putting it back, swept the patio and am currently watering. I've been hunting for string of pearls for 2 years, managed not to breakdown and buy it on Amazon, and found one at the market when we went to get milk the other day. The stuff in the grass frame is growing still, but I dunno if the chickens will give it much of a chance to get very tall. In addition to all of that we took the pups to the park and went to the hardware store. The next task is to work on the pop door for the big coop and add some screws where there are gaps between the walls and frame. I've decided not do a second coat of whitewash. The chickens don't care about perfection and it's not like paint, it rubs off over time. Crrently listening to "Barracuda" by Heart, I loved rock music from a young age because of this song.

Few snaps from around the yard and garden today.
