Fugly Farm

Or you could leave him intact and change his name to Romeo :gig
No way! I do NOT want babies, Ken would kill me! I have my incubator getting ready to hatch for the kid and the first thing Ken asked when he got home from work is, "what and how many are you hatching?"

Just a word of advice on breeding rabbit's later for you or someone that you know that want's to for their food source. Pick the future breeder's that come from larger sized litter's on both sides of the parent's lineage. That way you won't have to buy so many doe's. When I had mine before, I ran 4 doe's to 2 Buck's, because I was selling the babies. My white New Zealand doe came from a litter of 12, and she was a good mother also.
I didn't know you'd raised rabbits! Did you raise them for meat or more for pets?

Both. I raised them when I was living in St. Rose, LA. I sold some of the babies, and I ate some too. I even built my own cages, and had a watering system that ran the line to each cage, so they were never out of water. Had a woman call me up and asked for 60 babies once. I only had 16 of mine left at the time, but she bought them all. They were trying to find a bunch of kitten's and bunnies for some affair they were doing for the kid's. They filled up a kid's swimming pool with water and floated a bowl on it. The kid's were to toss a ping-pong ball and try to get it into the bowl. If they did, then they got to choose a bunny or a kitty as the prize.

Oh I bet the parents were thrilled! Lol. That is so cool that you had the experience though. I didn't like rabbit when I tried it so I've never considered them as a source for food. Eating our chickens is hard enough, don't think I could eat Walter unless I was starving to death.

Maybe it depend's on how they are cooked. I liked doing mine up in a crockpot, and added chicken broth along with the onion's, garlic, and veggies. I saved the broth after for cooking up some rice or egg noodles later in it.

When we raised meat rabbits thats pretty much how we cooked them too. They can be tough if they aren't cooked slowly (at least, ours were).

It was a wild rabbit rather than farmed so I'm sure that makes a difference too. My daughter liked it. We had it while she was on spring break and she told her kindergarten class she ate the easter bunny :gig

Hope she didn't make any kids cry
