It depends on timing quite a bit. We get there around 0530 during the summer and it's usually pretty busy before we leave.

@BlueBaby hatching isn't going to happen. Lucy switches nests so it is what it is.

The flock is using the kiddie pool so I'm going to pick up one more this week and have hubs cut it down. I'm not looking forward to processing birds soon, we'll need to get them done around 4th of July and I'm ready to just get it over with.

I swept the patio today and have some things to transplant. Yay! more holes to dig. TSC had a 5 gallon waterer so I got one and really like it; also picked up feed, OS and grit.

I caved and let Angus out. I might just put him back but we'll see.

I wanted to start hatching from the FNN girl, because I'm not sure how well the Dorking or Red Ranger's will handle our 118-F. summer's. This way at least I will have some of her chick's that are naked neck's to carry on with just in case she doesn't handle it.

So far my fully feathered girls are doing ok. Cuckoo is pretty small for a meatie mix and she doesn't seem to suffer really bad from the heat. The red girls are another story, but as long as they have some cool water to stand in they recover pretty well. For now I'm rotating the white eggs in a carton on my counter so I can incubate if anything happens to the crazy girl.

Whew, been out to dig some holes and move some plants, boy is it warm out there! The oleanders have been planted outside the west wall of the yard. You can see the top of the coop in the fist pic. I'm hoping when they grow up they'll keep the wall cool in the summer afternoon.

Mesquite trees in the front have filled out nicely

I moved the ground cover from the shade garden to the planter under the front window

The red bird of paradise was transplanted, too close to the blocks, and divided so now there are 2. I moved the ornamental sage from the front yard into this bed and planted some white ruellia too. The junipers didn't make it so I tore those out. The chickens are doing a great job of stirring this bed, I think it's time for more hay.

Put the firebush in the shade garden. It'll shade the heather in Spring and get lots of sun next to the door

Rotating the egg's on the counter is a good thing. I also have an 18-pack that I have been rotating daily. That way if I had to incubate again, I would have 18 that were fresh enough, or I could sell them if someone need's them for hatching.

Put the pool in the corner and moved the shade to cover

Food and the new waterer

Flooded the mini coop and turned on the fan this morning. I need to collect eggs and put fresh hay in the boxes, stir the litter in the coop and put hay in the xeriscape bed, waiting to do that this evening.

How hot is it there today IM?

Currently 94* but 106 for the high and staying that way all week. I'm not going to complain, it's staying under 110
