Fugly Farm

Went to Lowe’s for pools today. I bought three because being out there year round is going to be brutal. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I put one out by the lemon tree this morning and the big girls have been out there all day having fun. It took me all day but I got the shed cleaned out, moved my stuff in, then got it organized. The shed iwas here when we moved in and I can’t see buying a new one if this one is mostly ok, but the door is an issue. I’m going to have hubs cut my lattice door down more to size and I’ll cover it with HWC to deter rats, I found a dead one in there today :sick Hopefully being cleaned out and tidy and getting regular traffic will help as well. Didn’t have much time with the ducklings today, every time I went in there they ran to the corner so other than they’re bigger, not much has changed. I’ll get updated pics tomorrow/

Looks great IM! I can't imagine rats...we have mice and that's bad enough. The little's will warm up to you, but there are only so many hours in a day!

The rats we get here are roof rats. The neighbors across the street have had problems because the people that live behind them leave the fruit from their trees to rot. I’ve had two but we keep out poison, just not where the ducks or dogs can get it. I use a compost bin for food scraps and have a compost pile for yard debris and duck litter. Don’t like rats and don’t want rats!

Yuck, rodents :tongue I can't stand them whether they take rat form or mouse! The company house was a mouse magnet and of course, they always showed up when DH was gone.

I can find everything and I tossed a bit of stuff plus made hubs take his engine hoist and stand to the garage. He is such a packrat  but I’m not.

There you go with that rat talk again :gig

Your husband and mine should have a contest to see who has the most accumulated stuff.

Even with the cats?
I remember one time my mom was hustling to get dressed to get me to the school bus. She pulled on her cowboy boot, then screamed, yanked her foot out and jumped back..out came a mouse. Then the cats were climbing curtains to chase it and the dogs joined the melee. What a mess.

That would have made a hilarious home video IM
:gig

My cats mostly chased them, but they didn't seem to catch many. I might have been kind of glad since they're my lap kitties. Ugh, mouse breath!

I had a poodle and when we were out picking apples the mice would be under the bins and when we would move them so that we could dump our apples into them, he would catch and eat the mice, then he would go eat an apple! I always thought it was because they didn't taste very good...:gig
