Good idea.We can trade Cavey. I’ll send you some heat and you can send me some of your cold in winter!
I wish we could form a co-op. I'd happily take some winter in exchange for the summer heat.

Good luck! I hope y'all get some rain.Today’s forecast is 117. It was 97 at 0415 this morning according to my car; the thermometer on the back porch backed that up. Gave the crew some wet mash this morning with electrolytes and a little scratch. They got a 7 lb bag of ice in their waterer this morning and some lettuce, butter I think. I actually saw Elvis in the pool yesterday, I’m glad he indulged, he usually lets the girls hang out while he stands outside. They enjoyed hunting for bugs while I watered earlier too. We’re expected to continue under an extreme heat warning through most of next week with temps at 115+ until we get a slight chance of rain…which will just make it muggy unless we actually get some precipitation and a breeze. Keeping my fingers crossed for that!
How are you holding up Janie? Doing ok?Good luck! I hope y'all get some rain.
It's a okay as long as I'm not working in the afternoon. Sitting in the shade is not horrible. Our highest real temp has been 104, and our highest "feels like" has been 115. So honestly, while I'm ready for fall, your temperatures are much worse than ours. How are you holding up Janie? Doing ok?
I’m pretty much inside by 10, except to go out and give the crew some ice. Even so I feel thoroughly disgusting with sweat by the time I have a shower. I went for ice this evening and bought the last four bags at QT. Apparently it’s a hot commodityIt's a okay as long as I'm not working in the afternoon. Sitting in the shade is not horrible. Ugh, that’s rough! I hope they’re out soon though. Any word on that? We aren’t getting much news about it here.Smoke is back,, Its 70°F outdoors at night now,,, but I hesitate opening windows.![]()
Its @ 145 in my neighborhood,, and predicted to get higher as day arrives. I go outdoors with a mask on during this bad air quality. I avoid doing much outdoor activity as possible.

I hope those Canadian Fires get under control soon.
I normally open window overnight to cool the interior of home. Then as daytime temps climb, I close windows and turn on AC. Now I have to trap the relatively warm air inside without venting it out. Don't want the smokey air coming inside.![]()
The sun has been up for one hour and I'm already a soppy wet mess. It isn't even hot yet, but the humidity is 90%. We are only supposed to have a high of 94 today. I'm guessing its because the sky is overcast and we have a 40% chance of rain. I hope we get some.I’m pretty much inside by 10, except to go out and give the crew some ice.
