Thanks Debby; unfortunately she didn’t make it I haven’t cried over a chicken in a while, but her I did. She was a sweet girl.

Elvis and Toast are in the coop today. The boy is picking them up later and I’ll get the ducks whenever; I just need Elvis gone. Stormy seems kinda lost, but I did see her out with Attila this morning. Red has taken over mommy duties and the boys are still peeping at her like they’re helpless I’m certain the red chick came from Attila, I imagine Phoenix is from Toast but definitely from her or Red based on the amount of feathers. Either way, we will be down to one rooster and three hens by this time next year and maybe Attila will go broody again. If she does I’ll probably steal her and eggs and give her fakes until hatch time, then slip her a few girls one night; I like the odds of getting girls more that way. Our weather forecast shows 117 one day next week with overnight lows in the 90’s. Replaced the pools, still need to cut some doors so we can use them today. Tomorrow morning I’m going to hose the inside of the coop and probably spray some permethrin on Monday, just the cracks and crevices. It’ll be good to open it all up and let some air blow through it too.

Maybe when you get the ducks and take pictures (ahem, you were going to, right?), you could grab a picture of Phoenix too...I'd love to see his little bow tie!

of course! I’m hoping to get Pip, Bean and Fig back, that’s what the kid is trying for anyway; not sure when it’ll happen. I will try to get some pics of Phoenix today, it’s really just fuzz right now. He is so darn cute though!

Currently 110 degrees at 1500. Just put out a couple more ice blocks; saw Stormy eat a bit and think about getting in a pool. I hope she gets in.
