Posts are set in concrete. We need to level where they’ll be set for shade and move em  that’s all I’ll say about that.

Luffa is planted here to grow up the trellis. I took some soil from around the compost pile to fill in a hole and added a couple healthy scoops of worm castings.

The succulents are ready to divide and they’re great at slowing soil erosion so I’m going to get that done this week.

Might want to re-think that agave IM...could be a whole new revenue stream for the family. :gig
That particular agave takes 5 years to produce a stalk and when you harvest it, it dies. Then you harvest the seeds and begin with new plants. It doesn't sound very productive, but I guess Jose is making it work.

I spent a couple hours outside this morning. Watered veggies and seeds, started a little hugel mound and divided one of the succulents into six separate plants and got those in and protected from the chickens for the most part. Also got the debris pile picked up and put into the metal planter and a grow bag. It’s already getting warm out there so I’m done for today. Plus I’m starving so I need to make some grub.

After all the wood chips and straw I have added over the years I’m finally seeing some improvement in soil in some areas of the yard. Like I can actually dig a few holes. Also, there’s some good soil under one of the compost piles where I’ve been putting big stuff. Going to get that stuff moved and formed into another actual pile so I can use that soil. I’m also planning a dedicated compost area with a through bin type of system. Using up the blocks for that and putting it on the back side of the shade garden so it’s not visible from the house.

What year of growth is your garden patch on???:gig

I'm sure it's strictly a coincidence, but this is the 2nd thread I've been on today that referenced tequila. There must be something in the air
