~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

*nanako watched the fast approaching pigeons cautiously, trying to predict what they might do next.*
Rocket narrowed her eyes and crouched, ready to fly. She muttered something angrily under her breath.
The pigeons landed on a stunted tree close by the telephone pole. One, a dark gray checkered male, strutted forward. “You two spied on me, then attacked me and my companion!” He cooed, puffing up his chest more than Rocket thought possible. “If you tell me who you work for, maybe we won’t kill you!” He declared, the other pigeons shaking their razor-talons behind him.

“Eggsh-“ Fish Sticks froze mid-flap, and would’ve fallen into the bay if the wind hadn’t been carrying him. “That’s- that’s where Vaatras and Oyster live!” He stuttered, flapping harder to make up for his shorter wingspan. When Fish Sticks had thought about adventures, being beat up by Vaatras had not been what he imagined.

“We caught the fugitive, though!” Blizzard protested. We can’t just give up now. Not after.. all I’ve had to do for this mission. “There has to be some way..” He muttered.
“Okay then, where do you suggest we go then? You know this place better than I do,” Riski said. In the distance, he saw the island, covered in green with steep cliffs above rocky beaches. Gulls wheeled over it.
~
”You’re right, we can’t give up now,” Moonlight said, surprised by Blizzard’s determination to turn the gull in. “But what can we do? Call for reinforcements?”

(They did??? *confused*)
Nanako: you know why thwy think we were spying on them? *she put her talons up to her chin in thought like she's often seen her human do. She unconsciously picked up that habbit feom them.*

“I-” Fish Sticks paused, for once not knowing what to say. “I don’t know.” He mumbled. “The other places might not have enough gulls, for whatever yer tryin’ to do.” He said, looking at Riski uncertainly.

Blizzard sighed. He flapped his wings and shook himself, as if trying to prepare for what he was about to say. “I could- my flock is.. close by the edge of Raven Territory. I could get there if I go fast. They are loyal to me, even though I am not their leader. Many I’ve saved from other birds or healed their wounds.” He cooed, a note of weariness in his voice. They’ll hate me for this. He thought, knowing that, whatever he said to them, it would be true. Most are enemies of the pigeon military themselves. This gull, he didn’t do anything evil. He really didn’t do anything wrong at all. My flock will see him as a brother.. but some will help me, because of their loyalty. I must do this, so this gull doesn’t die in the woods.. and so my flock is safe. He straightened his shoulders and prepared to fly.

Rocket almost laughed at Nana’s pose, but didn’t due to their hostile company. She squinted in thought. Then, her head shot up when she realized. “When we first met!” She whispered quickly, “Remember? There were two gang leaders, and they thought we were spying on them!”
The gang leader spotted Rocket and lunged forward, grabbing her.
"Hey!" Rocket protested, struggling to get out of her grasp.
"Were you spying on us?" The gang leader growled.
"What? No! I'm with Suliver's gang. Get your claws off me!" She continued to try to get free, but it was futile.
*nanko watched with clear distaste for the others behavior, before jumping out with wings flapping. She was aiming to batter the other with her wings, like shed done during the race.to fend off predators some. She pecked at the other pigeon as she did.*

Fish Sticks not speaking for five seconds? Preposterous.
“Then we go to Eggshell Island,” Riski said, for once uncertain in his decision, beating his wings once to get a bit higher.
~
”Okay,” Moonlight said. “You get them. I’ll watch the gull.” Not like he’s going anywhere. Blizzard gave me the easy job.

Fish Sticks tried to still his wings, instead using the breeze to guide him. However, he couldn’t glide as well as Riski, and his nervousness made him uncertain, which messed up his flight. He stayed silent, thinking about what Riski had said. What’s his plan? He wondered, looking up at the big-gull.

Blizzard nodded tensely, then flapped into the air and headed towards the familiar place where his flock foraged- the pier.

(If Moonlight had gone to talk to Blizzard’s flock, I think they would’ve all scattered, screaming about the pigeon military. XD)

Dusty vigilantly followed after Russet. They were getting closer to the junkyard- he could see the warehouses passing underneath them. But it was getting dark. I hope we get there in time. He thought. For the first time, he felt uneasy about Russet’s plan.

Riski flew towards the island, guiding Fish Sticks to the place where the the most gulls were gathered.
They landed on an outcropping above all the gulls.
“Yell this in a really loud and commanding voice,” Riski whispered into Fish Sticks ear. “Gulls! We have let the pigeons oppress us for far too long!” (I can see a lot of ways this can go and none of them are good, lol, no wonder Riski gets banished so often.)

Russet flew over Cement’s head where she perched on the lawn chair.
“We’re here!” he yelled, just as he flew over her face.
The pigeons gathered around the gull. “There are five of us,” Russet said, landing at her left foot. “Should we all grab a limb and you get the head?” He tipped his head inquisitively at Cement.

Fish Sticks shuffled his feet. Then he shuffled his wings. For once in his squawk-filled life, he felt reluctant to speak. Maybe it was due to the fear of being beat up. Or maybe it was some sort of stage-fright. He cleared his throat, opened his beak, and then clacked it shut again. “Why do I have to do this again?” He asked, staring down at the multitude of milling gulls. There wasn’t too many, but there sure was enough to hold off a small gang of pigeons, if it came to that. Maybe not win, but a group this size could certainly intimidate.
