fuzzi's Chicken Journal

I use IBC tote to collect rain water from the gutter. It was quite a bit of work to set up but really worth it. I watched a lot of youtube videos beforehand. I can show pictures if you are interested.
Yes, please.

I follow this thread but for some reason don't always get notifications! It is fun getting caught up, but am sorry to see about Lydia 🙁.
Wow @ Zack the former little chick! He deserves some grapes for being a pretty boy, is he tidbitting for the hens at all?

He's not yet tidbitting the hens, but he's hanging out with the younger crowd.

The hens kept knocking it off its perch, and I couldn't find the right combination of blocks to keep it steady. Until (I think) today.

I bought some rain barrels, put one next to the coop.

I believe it's going to be very helpful.

Great job at arriving at a good brick tetris matrix for that waterer! I know from experience that those "small" problems are sometimes a big deal to find solutions for!
It's been frustrating, for sure. Adding dirt underneath did NOT solve it.

I once spent about 4 hours of my evening coming up with a belt contraption for a chick feeder. Not sure if this would compute for a waterer, too, but a series of cable ties and duct pvc straps made it hangable, when the baling wire wouldn't cooperate at all!
