Found three eggs in three nesting boxes this afternoon.

And then I found, over in the back corner of the coop, one more little egg:

I think someone might have laid her first egg!

Three nesting boxes for seven pullets should be enough, right?

When I went out to the coop earlier this morning I found two eggs, and Martha in a nest box. Since she was acting broody a couple weeks ago I decided to remove her, and she was not amused.

I just checked on the flock and found a beautiful egg that I am fairly sure came from Martha. She started laying 6 weeks ago, was the first pullet to do so.

With new young layers it's not unusual for them to do that. Hopefully they figure out the nest boxes.

I have one Wyandotte about 1 1/2 yrs old who insists on laying on the floor of the coop in front of the next boxes. :idunno

Martha may end up being a good setter when to time comes.

I had a new pullet start to lay this week. Caught her in the nest box this morning! :yesss: Now I'm watching her sisters.
