Fuzzy-Butt Update PIC HEAVY

Awww, your babies are adorable! I have a couple chicks right now that look similar to yours, only with weird colored eyes. Do chicks' eye color change as they age? Because mine used to look like yours do now, with real dark eyes, but they've grown lighter everyday, and now they are sort of a forest green color.

Anyways, good luck with the rest of the babies! I'm sorry to hear about poor little Eggbert.

I hope your broody has another great hatch!

Thank you! I don't know if their eye color changes or not. This is our first ever batch of chicks, the rest we got as pulletts. It is great to see you are from the Asheville area, that is where my best friend lives!! Do you know a lot of people in the area?

That's neat, I'm sure s/he loves it there. I'm actually situated about 25 miles west of Asheville, in a little town called Waynesville. I do know some people in Asheville, though they are mainly college kids or hippies. I love it here, it's very beautiful. And any time that I need a break from the farm scene I just head on over to Asheville for some good coffee and chocolate. Have you ever eaten at The Chocolate Fetish in Asheville? If not, you and your BFF should totally go there sometime. It's amazing.

Last time I was there the Mellow Mushroom was my favorite place. I was talking to my husband and he was wondering about the eye color change because that happens with Mereks disease. I don't want to make you worry but I will add a link to wikipedia that describes it. Just in case, like I said I don't want to cause undo worry.

Ew, thank you for warning me. I hope that's not the case, though I will certainly keep an eye out for any other similar-sounding symptoms. So far the chicks have been active and healthy, with good looking poops and such, so I don't think it's come down to Marek's yet...but, thanks for the info. I'll be watching those babies like a hawk for the next couple of weeks.

ETA: Mmm, The Mellow Mushroom is good too.

I love their white pizza.

I hope it is not that either! Maybe it's just like human babies, their eyes always seem to change lol.
Their Pizza is the best. Nothing like it here. We have a mellow Mushroom but it's not the same. I also like how the bars are by membership, you see a lot of funny stuff. I have actually seen a dog in a bar that sat under the owners chair til closing time. OOOhhh and 7 year Jim Beam. We only get the 4 year here or the Jim Beam Black. I like the 7 year, reallly good stuff...ABC stores are strange though. I'm gonna PM you if that's ok??

I'm a newbie on here, but I've been trying to read a lot when I can. I seem to remember someone posting about their chicks eyes getting infected? I believe they got some Terramycin for them. Not sure how likely this is in your case, with your chicks hatched at home by momma, but you may want to briefly explore this possibility.

CUTE pics, by the way!!
