LOL, I went and looked out the front window, and the guy across the street has a lake even bigger this time around. The stream is up the bottom of his driveway, and at the end where it runs under the road is up to the road as well. Thank God those culverts were cleard a few years ago or the water would be backed up over his drive, and the road as well. Mrs. Brown also has a lake this time as well, and the ground in the trees is pretty bad too. And to think, I was running though those trees today chasing Texas down to get her back in the run before the rain hit. Now i'd probably sink up to my ankles and then some.
Went out to the run and had a look. Yup, flooded, but the bale of straw has done its purpose. The birds on, have one spot where the water is deep coming out of the coop, and I can't put a skid there now. It is in the Marans run so they have dry place to be off the roost. Speaking of them, got an egg yesterday from one, and one today from one. Todays egg was darker with specks on it, Yesterdays was so muddy, they didn't use the box yesterday, that I just fed it back to them. Today, they used the nest box. We are expecting more rain over night. Sigh....
OH, the new silkie roo has decided he does not need to stay in his pen anymore. He's gotten out again. He just jumped up on his shelf that he has for a roosting area, and then jump up to the top of the pen partition... Ok, like it's only 4 feet high, and then down to the other side. I figured he wouldn't get up over the 4 ft... but apparently, he's a lot like Roger and doesn't mind getting up high when it suits his purpose. Persistent little cutie. He's in love with Soledad...
He follows her around and stays by her... AAAAAAWWW! Thanks Robin. I am in love with him. Did you have a name for him? If not, I think I might name his Ray...
it is supposed to be a high in the upper 60's tomorrow. They just might get that chance. I would totally let them... BUT they've got to do it fast. Jace has a preformance at school at 6:30 tomorrow... Celebration of Learning... grumble grumble groan. I hate to be around so many people and so many kids... makes me nervous.
