I'm going to need a boat myself! The road just before ours is flooded over in 3 spots. Can't go the normal way into town because that spot is the deepest one so I have to go through the other 2 which aren't as deep. The road out on the other side of us is flooded over, too, so we have to go through water no matter which way we choose. We also have a vernal pond on the west portion of our property which is usually about the size of our living room, but it is now the size of large pond. It is all the way to the private road on our west, all the way to the front of the main road, and up to the back of our pole barn and old pig pen. Our yard slopes downward so it is spreading more to the back of the property than into our yard right now so I hope it stays that way.
Also, I work in the Lowell area and they are expecting the river to crest at 21ft Sunday. The last highest crest recorded was in 1948 at 19ft. They are setting up emergency shelters and passing out sandbags. They are expecting all of downtown to be flooded which means the post office, too. Not sure how it's going to effect mail delivery yet. I drove through there on my way home tonight and there are a lot of homes along the river right now that could literally open up their back door, take a step outside and go for a swim.
