Garden decorations - swap ideas (showing off totally acceptable!)

A windchime I made using a drain catcher, nylon string/ thread, some beads, and a random metal pipe (cut to different lengths)

Since the pipe pieces are kind of heavy, it has to be really windy for it to move. heh. well, at least it looks nice hanging from a tree.

(Also, to explain the background, we recently had a cold snap in S Florida & had to cover our trees.)

you need something to hang below what ever you're using to hit the pipes. I make wind chimes and use electrical conduit, copper pipe, I even made a BIG one using pipe from a swing set.Get something like an old CD to hang below the clapper(that's the thing that hits the pipes) and lower than the pipes so the wind will blow it and move the clapper into the pipes and you will hear it even when the wind is very slight. 5 pipes make a better sounding wind chime.

Saw this plate @ a thrift store. Glued it to a stake using GE silicone ii and Boom!! Instant decoration. Well... instant after it the silicone dried.
