More likely to get better prices in big cities. Pet stores have really promoted high prices on a lot of animals. Look at Craigslist in your area and see what is around and what they are going for. I hope to grow a lot of greens for my rabbits to cut feed costs and give them fresh foods this summer.

Lol, when I mentioned rabbit breeding to Hubs, he was less than enthusiastic. I don't think he wants a lot more animals to deal with right now. Does anyone here know anything about growing mushrooms for profit? I bought a book on it a few years ago, but got a little discouraged cause it sounded kind of hard to do. I'm still interested though, as I heard some people have made around $30,000. a year growing mushrooms. I would love to get into something like that, where Hubs and I could make some extra money working at home like that.

Pretty much! We found they were a bit leaner and it worked best for us to use them for things like stews or dishes that were sautéed. And if you wait until they're older, they can be tough (like most meats I guess).

Yes they can get tough unless you brine them over night first. Then they are so tender and juicy! It will make your mouth water! :drool
 
I just planted some tomato seeds to start with the few seeds I planted the other day.

I hear you keep them in the dark and feed them rabbit manure! You lay a mushroom on the soil and tap it so the spores fall out. But have not done it myself. Maybe google it...
