I guess I'm done trying to plant anything other than a few seeds in my raised garden bed.
I've sprained both ankles and strained my chest wall trying to haul and move buckets as and 50 lb. Bags this year. I'm to old for this. And it's hard to admit defeat. I got three trees planted in pots. And that's it for the year.

Sure can't "like" hearing this chickadoodles. So sorry you are hurt. Moving 50 lb. anything is too much! Take care of yourself and heal up fast :hugs

that i understand, BUT at least i'm ahead of you in one respect, no sprained ankles, but the back and hips sure are hurting, since my husband had the one eye done, i have to move the chicken tractor and its no light weight, husband says the reason i hurt so bad is because i was bending over in the garden(didn't hurt) picking beans and pulling weeds and then moved the tractor for the chickies so altho it has to be done sure will be glad when he can be allowed to help with the tractor. heres hoping you soon be feeling better and back on your feet :hugs

Thanks Sharron. I hope you and your dh feel better soon also! :hugs
Gardening is suppose to be enjoyable. lol It's just harder when we get older.

even tho i hurt sometimes like the devil, i still love gardening and to prepare what i raise, then eat what i prepare, well what can i say, its what i love, when growing up, loved hunting and fishing with my daddy, and riding my horse all day, since i can no longer do either of those, had to find something else i love and i have in gardening and will continue as long as i can , raised flower and veggie beds here i come:lol:

Well you get the point.... Those south of me get these earlier, and those north of me get later..
The next 3 pix are of a Lilly plant I got from a Friend many years ago. Slow to bloom (2 years to start, and then every year). Beautiful flower, JMO. The seeds are on the stem, which is the only plant I have to do such. Any one else have these???

This is a container grown Mini Kiwi. Second year. No fruit this year yet. (not important BTW) I like the green foliage it provides on the patio.
