growing up, momma baked them in the oven and we ate them either plain or with butter, in school we had them candied but altho momma knew how to cook many things, candied was not one of themI'm with @N F C on the no marshmallows or brown sugar. Great way to make an inherently healthy food very UN healthy.
Woozer! I tried growing them last year. Got about 1/2 pound of mini sweet potatoes from 3 plants. Didn't bother this year.
this is my first time planting them but i remember my mil cutting one up to start slips, she always put them in the kitchen windowsill and they would take off and root, maybe she dug them earlier but she never had anything this large. mini's would have suited me fine since these are so large we couldn't eat that much at four or five sitting,much less one sitting
