That sounds like a good way to plant. I suppose you could do the same with a bag of compost for other types of plants.
today I am going to make a batch of parker house potato rolls.
yield about 30 . I made some a couple of weeks ago, only I forgot to add salt. They still turned out OK.
I have the turkey thawing out. I have it on the back porch. wouldn't you know it? today is not supposed to get above freezing. I will move it to the south porch. It is just above 40F out there. Might have to put it into water if it doesn't thaw by this afternoon.
I have a brine mix I am going to try for the first time.
better get started. it is about a 3 hour project. [

Happy Easter
Well the brined turkey meal was a success. The turkey was delicious and fall off the bone tender. The juice was a bit salty. Annie made gravy with it. Had to dilute it with water and then it was OK. She didn't add salt to the mashed potatoes. it was all fine.
there were only six of us to eat a sixteen pound turkey. we have leftovers to last us for a month. lol

Dealing with Black knot fungus. Had to clear cut all my mature plum trees..:hit I will have a bunch of sprouts coming all spring and summer. Will have to get a fungicide to prevent the new trees from getting infected.
Have had this variety growing on my grounds for over 35 years. Just in the last 10 years this fungus found its way to my trees.

Took all afternoon, and early eve to have pile burn down. Did burn somewhat slow because the branches were live still.

real bummer about the plums, Rich. My plum tree blew down in a thunderstorm a couple of years ago. I have one left along the driveway. there are wild plums growing along the road.
our temperatures are running just above freezing during the days. Despite this, Yesterday the rhubarb and garlic are coming up.

Ahhh, new blood in the game. Welcome Flint.
All you need to know is how to get online here. I am not a computer whiz. Our grandson lives with us. any problems I have, he takes care of.
Molpet, I read that in the northern regions if you plant potatoes in the second week of June, you will have fewer potato bugs. Worth a try.
I just went down to get the paper.
I could see the garlic from the road.
