Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

I had plans to work on the rototiller and lawnmower today. 78F and rising is too hot for me.
there is always tomorrow.
I am going to put landscape cloth down between the grapes and top it off with rotted wood chips. There is always tomorrow for that, too.

all three of my kids called today.
had long talks with each one.

It was nice of your kids to call.
My DH and I went up to visit my Dad and Mom. I brought supper with me. Marinated chicken breasts, smashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. I made a Blitz torte for dessert - his moms recipe of course. It was a nice time.
Pretty hot out there today. Need to get the irrigation for the garden finished though. Tomatoes are loving the hot weather but really need a drink.

Our youngest daughter always takes us out to eat for the day. so we each get two meals out of it. only this time she is going to combine both days so we will get just one meal each.
so far I have not had to water anything. hope it keeps up.

weatherman won't guarantee any rain soon. can't depend on a "might" rain.
I haven't even hooked the hose up yet.
dragged the tiller out. going to drain the gas out. I think there is water in it.

I've been watering right from the start. We don't get enough rain to grow anything without watering.

up until now we have had plenty of rain. my soil is not sandy, so the ground stays moist a long time.

My rain gauge says that I have had 0.10" of rain this month. I live on a sand dune, it does not hold water.
