Gardening in this heat9

Good day everyone! well today was sooo hot 34 degrees celcius..something like 92-95 degees f..I cleaned the chicken coop of scat..collected 6 good eggs from the Australorps AND 1st time ever since Ive had the "tweedles" (my showgirl silkies) collected 1!!! egg I added alittle fresh saw dust to both coops..put in fresh clean COLD water and some ice cubes along with some frozen berries to the water sat with and talked to the tweedles..wanted to weed the potatoes but just couldnt bring myself to hanging out in the scorching heat..tonight at dusk I will water..thanks to my hubby for going to the lake and bringing me 2 1000litre cubes of water for the week..(ground here is VERY sandy so we go through water like crazy) new plans are in the works for a differant way next year..hope everyone is staying hydrated and cool...enjoy the day

Wow, you need to get yourself a drip irrigation system! I got one and the small cost was well worth the time I've saved. I've had the most robust garden I've ever had, and actually uses less water by watering in that method. I also mulch very heavily with straw which helps so much with weeds and water retention. I'm on week two with no rain and it's been in the 90s for a week, but I've only watered three times. You turn it on for about 3 hours and then turn it off when you're done.

90 degrees here-a cool spell-and very humid. It feels much hotter than 90. I've been forcing myself to do the chores that have been put off over and over again. Enjoy your day too.

I garden in 100-120 summers and Never had any problem as long as the garden is watered. I agree with @nchls school that here is an extremely mild day.

lol I would humblehillsfarms..its all a work in progress..every year we will make improvements and sometimes were thrown for a loop..the chickens wernt really..ummm..expected..shall we say but well i have been watching them for the last 3yrs across the road at the neighbours..and even tried to hatch some myself..when i was asked if i would like to have them i jumped! ive had lots of joy..a moment of sorrow..when #9 went missing and tonsss of enjoyment trying to befriend my feathered brood..lol..except TND..the rooster..hes a bugger and were battling for top spot..(TND stands for..Tomorrow Nights Dinner) i dont give up so hes still here because of some sound advise from my friends here on BYC
