I thought they were Cocks too, I'm new to chickens, but can I ask why they don't try to crow at all? I have 3 other chicks the exact same age, they are Pekin cross japs, I've worked out two are definitely female, and 1 male, he's been practising his crow for weeks now but my 2 pure japs pictured above are quiet.Cocks!
Thanks for your help, I thought that was the case but was confused as they're not trying to crow at all like my Pekin cross boy (has been practising for weeks now) he is the same age as these 2.At 9 weeks that development = cockerel
Thank you for your help!Cockerel
Thank you for your help! There both cockerels.
Because their not the dominant cockerel/rooster. If they try, the dominant one will flog them, and they know it. Crowing is a way of claiming territory, or flocks.I thought they were Cocks too, I'm new to chickens, but can I ask why they don't try to crow at all?
