Good grief, i just figured out that one of my very expensive Light Sussex's has blue shanks...I am puzzled...what could it be?

id+ which causes slate legs is recessive. Slate legs include the white gene. So yup, recessive.

Sussex. It's a recessive gene. disqualification. I wouldn't use it for breeding unless it is one of your only birds.
