my roo used to do that... it changed into aggressive stance and eventually him attacking. Thanks! The Orloffs are quickly becoming my favorite breed. They are extremely friendly even when I haven't handled them a lot. They won't eat the food I feed the others until they say good morning to me by running up and staring up at me. I am going to try to video tape it, I have never seen it before in any other bird

You got a point, I am watching out for that cause the super friendly cockerels are actually super brave and suspicious of you. I had an extremely friendly rooster some years ago who went all out with attacking when he got of ageL

I haven’t seen a lot of variety in person mostly because I live in an urban area but I have seen so many different breeds over the internet and want each new one I see! That orloff is gorgeous! I am realizing i really havent seen a lot of chickens.
Probably tardy feather growth. Featherless chickens start out naked. Here is a picture of the featherless Australorp chick with a Sultan and a Mahogany Orloff. He has never grown a feather since his first week. He is now 2 months old

I wanted Orloffs until I had Buckeyes. I guess if they were accepted in the Standard, I might have got them instead. But I'm just happy with my wonderful Buckeyes anyways. Thanks!
