Had this little odd ball hatch out. Part of Brown Red Mottled D’Uccles project. The buff spot is feathering out buff colored. And yes he does have scissor beak so he’ll have to be butchered when he gets older.

I have had several barred chicks and a single Blue Chick pop up in my mutt flock when I have never had either of those colors in that flock before.
Barring can be hard to see on blue. So one blue parent must be Barred.
Blue can only show up if a parent is Blue.
Some Blue chickens can almost look black.
 
Do you have any white birds?
If blue birds looked almost black they would not hide barring, it is the dilution that causes that.
I am thinking it most likely that your white birds are hiding blue and barred, if you have any white birds.
