well today we added wall feeders to the coop, and clean up out side (really just put things away) checked some traps and made pork sausage. which we let sit in the fridge for maybe a good 4 hours and then tried it and its bland/lacking flavor :(

where kinda in a warm spell right now (it was like 3C today so the snow started to melt feels like march/spring)

going deer hunting tomorrow with a friend hope to get a white tail deer tomorrow (i can only shoot a whitetail, but my friend has both whitetail and a mule deer tag.) so hoping to get some 100% natural/organic meat for the freezer and make some sausage from it.

thank you, this is my first time really trying for big game.

i did hunt before for whitetail (3 years ago i think) but really carried the gun for rabbits a 30-30 and found a rabbit shot it at maybe 10 yards, it was there one second, the next all that was left was a leg (a tasty leg) everyone at camp made fun of me for it, i just felt really bad though.

yeah I have taken a squirrel with a deer slug... felt the same way... seemed like a good idea 50 yrs ago :gig

Might not be 'organic' if deer feed in farm fields of corn, soybeans, grains.
Happy Hunting...of the larger game!!
(cringing but loling at squirrel and rabbit stories)

good point, i agree with you as you never know what the animal is eating. i just count it organic or natural for the fact the animal lived its life the way nature intended it to.
