Havent heard of it before but from the pictures of the sites I found it on... It appears to be similar to Advantage here in the US. those are for dogs and cats.
There are sprays these days for horses that have many of the same ingredients. And IF you know you are going to be riding in an infested or unknown infestation level... Spraying with those may help. But horses sweat and sweat washes off many insect repellants. Most of us focus on repelling flies around the face and ears.... and tender indefensable places like tummies and little folds of skin in their arm pits. There are roll on repellants for those places.
But I am not a fan of chemicals... herbally derived chemicals are pretty good in this case. We (horse people) make our own fly sprays Using Avon;s Skin So Soft which is a hand lotion and add in vinegar and eucalyptus and distilled water.
U.S. Forest Service Bug Spray Recipe
1 cup water
1 cup Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil
2 cups vinegar
1 tbs. Eucalyptus oil (found in health food stores)
Optional: few tablespoons of citronella oil.
the one I know made a gallon and you can tweak the Skin so soft because I cant bear the smell of it.

Shake spray bottle well before spraying on horse, human or dog!
