Well that is news to me. @aart told in another post that 18 and older were what was supposed to be only ones allowed without parents supervision and let’s say how do you put it saying they were on the post with them but there would be no way to know this so?

Hey thanks a lot for sharing and posting this! I love to have facts to do the same to have also in a good polite argument ! LoL! I knew there were kids on here much younger posting and chatting that were NOT 18 and did not have their parents on here with them. Nor parental consent. Didn’t you? One of my very good BYC friends who is very smart and experienced about ducks and chickens is not much older than 18 if that. Thanks again!

And how would you stop it? Anyone can sign up regardless of age. T just hit ignore and move on. Just like in real life.

Not sure what you mean by tagbaiting but if it’s anything negative towards me I don’t appreciate it. However my post didn’t mean anything misleading in regard to you it was meant in regard to the members who allow children to get on without adult supervision and did not come forth with the information to us that we were indeed talking with their children who were much younger than 18 which is of no fault of yours. I believe that this age of 13 for BYC members was more of a surprise for not just me. I will try to go back and find the discussion if at all possible in the amount of time I have today. We have so many it will be a chore for sure. I assure you are a huge resource and your help is so sought after that this is just a fluke I’m sure and not a terrible mistake on either one’s part to be upset about or a terrible responsibility or either.

I love BYC always have and i understand we all have different levels of experience and opinons and know im not always right but lately people just seemed to be so rude dismissing everything been said and to be honest im getting quite sick of it makes me wonder if i want to stay here tbh
Obviously not everyone loads of you are great and helpful just the odd few that feel they know better then anyone else and are paticularly rude

I’m a little late to this post but I have noticed the same level of rudeness and snarky comments. It’s a shame… this is called “backyardchickens” after all. Not everyone on this page is a hardcore farmer or even has a farm. Lots of folks have chickens in their backyard in the city or urban setting. It seems to me that the rude and snarky comments come from people who have large scale chickens. Also I am getting a bit frustrated with people on this site referring to me in the third person with rude comments. I had one commenter write on my post “ not sure what this OPs expectations are”. Don’t people know it’s rude to talk to someone in the third person? It seems to me like we have lots of this is coming from up north. Where is the southern manners? Lol
