Totally agree with you here... there are some that seem to think their opinion is the last word and seem to struggle to get their point across without being rude..... tbh it puts you off posting to try and help if those sort of people have been there before you and slammed their 10 cents on the table and chopped up anyone else's opinion on the way.... someone else's opinion is their opinion and we all must respect that even if we don't agree....

Totally know what u mean mate before id see posts just give my advice to help the OP these days if i see that certain individuals have already posted i dont feel like doing so anymore just to be shot down by those individuals xx
 
Yeah I got my feelings hurt a few weeks ago. I was showing sympathy for a health problem after reading pages and pages of her yada yada yada and she snapped back like I’d said something mean. I went silent here for a few days then decided to just not participate in the forum that she holds court in. There are so many really wonderful threads with none of that crap. But people are people and we’re all over the place. :gig
 
I've been around the block a few times, and from what I've seen, many people are a-holes. Take into consideration where you are ... You're on the internet, where there are little, to no consequences for bad behavior. In fact some people just don't care because of the anonymity of the whole setup.

If you are looking for advice, I have some .....Life is not fair, so suck it up buttercup, thicken your skin, and take everything with a grain of salt. Don't let a few rude blowhards run you off, and by all means, stand your ground.

Sorry if this sounds rude, I don't mean it that way, but this is how I deal with everyday life.

So keep looking up .....

.... And take solace in the fact that we are here for our animals, and any advice that we get, that makes them happier, and makes their lives even just a little bit better, is worth putting up with (ignoring) all the rudeness.

Amen. I can almost never ever seem to get the point across to others on here that it is okay to not have the same opinion as I do about your birds. After all they are your birds for instance that we maybe discussing and you are in control of your birds and property. Your birds are your property. Why should it insult you for me to tell you that I don’t have like all your opinions regarding them. Can’t we agree to disagree about yours and I will agree to disagree about mine. Cool. 😎👍 why can’t you people grasp that subject matter and just be happy with it some?

There are but they are just volunteers and they don’t always see everything. There are also only a few of them for thousands of members. The best thing to do if you see a post that you feel goes against the rules is to click the report button in the bottom left corner so they see it.

Making fun of another person on here is unacceptable if it is done just out of the blue without and for no basis. By that I mean if they ask for trouble by being a complete dumba_ _. Well then I can see how that easily works it self out very easily. BYC does have a moderator or two and there is not supposed to be anyone on here chatting under 18 but it does happen so be careful. Rudeness is just unacceptable. I don’t like being treated rudely and I have been treated that way by the moderator in my book. So go figure. However, I hold no grudges. I have learned a lot from a handful of people on here and some facts from the rest that are debatable.
