Mine started around 3-4 weeks. They had puffs on top of their heads that looked like marshmallows. At what age does a polish grow their afro of head feathers?
Adorable! I love the colouring on the brown one on the left...what type is that?View attachment 1485277 Mine sort of have a little afro but they are definitely at their awkward stage right now at two weeks.

Welp still has a good variety available. I just ordered mine from there. Getting 3 varieties. Had to stop myself from getting more varieties...Delivery fee of $36.95 sucks but no other hatchery even had them avail until October. Would love to get some eggs from ebay and see how those turn out.
I am actually keeping two polish and one wyandotte together right now till they get old enough for me to introduce them to my older hens. Your silver laced polish is so prettyView attachment 1485703 View attachment 1485705 View attachment 1485706 View attachment 1485707 I have a silver laced polish hen. She is the swwwtest and friendliest thing. She does fine even with turkeys. I think it’s harder when you have to introduce them as new commers to an established flock. I tried it once before when I had silver laced Wyandottes and the Wyandottes kept pecking there head feathers out and chasing them non stop. I don’t know if it was the breed ?? The Wyandottes were pretty territorial. I had to get rid of the polish at that time
