My brother and his wife used to live in a very old farm house. It is rumored that the house was part of the underground railroad. There is a hidden room upstairs that is only accessable via a hidden stairway in the back of a kitchen closet. There is another hidden room above this one, that is only accessable via a ladder hidden behind the fireplace. This house is just about a mile down the road from me
Anyway, when my brother and his wife first got together, they lived in this house with another couple. The other couple had a 2-year-old niece that would stay with them most all the time. I don't remember what they said the girl called the 'lady', but it was a name, presumably the woman's name. One day, the little girl (who was always 'playing' with the lady) came giggling and running into the front room, where my brother, his wife, and their friends were all sitting. The girl proceeded to put her head and forearms in the seat of a chair, and her rear and legs proceeded to lift up off the floor. Now, I know that with momentum, anyone is capable of doing this, but from my understanding, the lifting was not a quick thing, as it would be if this were due to momentum. Something picked up that little girl.
My brother's friends moved out of the house, leaving my brother and his (now pregnant) wife. There was the usual creepy feelings, cat staring at seemingly nothing and hissing. There is also a time when my sister in law was pushed down the stairs by no one. Once my nephew was born, and a few months old, he could not be left alone in any room in that house. He would scream his head off if you walked out of the room.
The last story involving anyone in my family includes my skeptic father. My brother and sister in law had told my father many stories about this house, dad all the while not believing them. They had since moved out of this house, but the house was empty. My brother still worked for the man who owned the property, so they went there to speak to the owner of said house. My sister in law and my father remained in the car while my brother went to talk to the owner. My sister in law likens the house to a train wreck, says you can't help but to look....So dad was sitting in the car, looking at the house, when all of a sudden the curtain in an upstairs bedroom (which is not only empty, but also forever locked with a padlock, as this is 'her' room) pulls back as if someone is looking out, but there is no one there. Then the curtain drops back into place.
I have been in this house a few times, but never alone. How someone could actually live there is beyond me!
