You might have trouble getting the correct black skin on barred Silkies, just like the Ameraucana breeders have. Apparently barring is closely linked to the gene for light skin, so they tend to be inherited together.

For the Malay X Silkie crossing, I'm gonna use 007, who is Khaki. That'll bring out more rare color possibilities.
Hard to tell in the lighting, & he's a Silkie.
Will get updated pictures of him tomorrow maybe.

Hard to get pictures of a Khaki silkie. Attempted to get pictures of the darker areas, he has light shades throughout, that are almost white.

That isn't Khaki, it's white.

Khaki can Often Times appear to be White or nearly white, depending on the melanizers present or not present.

I'm aware. And in no way is that hatchery quality bird carrying the Khaki gene. It's practically non-existent in the US.
