Yea! I'm not alone!

I was so bummed when 'DH took me out during our usual chat time!

Thought I'd missed everyone by just a minute. I almost got back off, but decided to catch up instead.

Glad I was right about your quail. I've got some listed now here at BYC to sale.

Awww! They're adorable.

I've only ever seen three types of pigeon since I got to Australia.

1. City pigeons, the grey spotty ones

1)Rock dove/pigeon?
2) Cool, What breed?

1) Yep, just the common ones that come in all sorts of patterns.
2) Spotted turtledove
3) I KNOW! When we first got here I was taken by the birds
That's crested pigeon. They have the most epic mate-attracting dance.

We get 2) and 3) everywhere, they eat our chickens' food.

All the dove/pigeon pics were nice. We have mostly mourning doves (gray) and a bunch of perch and poo pigeons, but not nearlyy so many as chicago. I'm such a bird person, that when I was there, I popped into a store and bough whole wheat bread to feed the pigeons. Those folks looked at me like I'd lost my mind completely!

I'm always buying the 50c discounted old bread from Woolies at the end of the day to feed the birds.

I love birds. Awesome, right?
I remember I was on holiday in Italy (just before we moved to Australia) and some guy in Pigeon Central was selling bags of corn for one euro apiece. The pigeons sat all down my arms, eating.

well, we have dark eyed juncos and i swear if it werent for us, our population of 940438341 would be dead w/o the chicken feed, LOL'

You have any idea on sexes?
The way you said it i didnt know if you had gone mad! It made you sound like "Oh you should get some coturnix, ya those cortunix look nice get those" XD so i asked someone on BYH

They're pretty cool. And yeah, friendly. Not like the seagulls, they will snatch food out of other birds' beaks during feeding time
