Hi, all! I'm new to the forum as a member, finally figured out how to get registered, lol - but have had chooks for almost 10 years. Last year all 5 of my Buff Orps went broody on me and we ended up with 8 chicks hatched. Of the 4 that survived to adulthood, 1 is a rooster (so now we have 2). Other than the Orps we have 2 adult EEs, an Olive Egger and a Maran. This year we ordered day-olds, got 15 EEs and 3 Brown Leghorns.

We are here in the forested area of the Ozarks of SE MO, where it's very humid, and the girls get plenty of forbs and lots of protein free-ranging in the afternoons. They follow DH when he mows and snatch up insects behind him! So... new to the forum as a contributing member, but have learned a lot from y'all by reading here. I appreciate you all and am looking forward to learning even more!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
That's funny that your flock follows your DH when he mows. My flock hear the lawn tractor coming and run as far as they can from it! But they do like going into freshly mowed areas to scratch around for disturbed bugs.
