Hello! Thank you for all the wonderful info!
I have a 4.4 lb hen, so that would be about 2000 grams, correct? Just want to Make sure I'm giving her the right amount of liquid
4.4 pounds = 1.995 kg = 1995 grams (round up to 2000 grams)
2% of 2000 grams = 40 ml
3% of 2000 grams = 60 ml
5% of 2000 grams = 100 ml

I would start with 40 ml & increase to 100 ml.

And also, if I'm giving enro.. is it ok to give the 0.3ml straight in with the 40-60ml hydration?

So i was successful when I did it on my lap, alone (not very easy), but when I had my hubby hold her, I was having trouble handling the syringe after i got the tube in. I was securing head and neck With my left hand, then advancing tube with right.. but I couldn't get to the syringe fast enough before the tube starting coming out. Any tips?

After watching more videos, we were able to give her more fluids last night. About 100ml for the day total.
She's not eating anything except for live mealworms. Should I continue to let her eat that? I'm planning to incorporate some kaytee baby bird food into the tube feed today @casportpony

I have a hen with sour crop who still has energy and range of motion to walk around and put her head down, but she won’t eat or drink so it’s been very hard to treat her. we have done 3 tube feedings just with the medicated water and nutridrench, and once with an egg yolk and some monistat, but I have no way of knowing if there’s something else preventing her recovery. I’m really worried that I’m putting her through this stress and just prolonging her suffering. Her crop hasn’t been growing in size or anywhere near overflowing, but the stuff that is in her crop refuses to move regardless of feeling broken up already. This has been tearing me apart and it’s just so hard not knowing what will happen or when it will be over. Any advice you have is hugely appreciated
