Good evening, all! I decided to try my hand at hatching this year. I searched Uncle Henry's (local swap/sell publication in Maine) and Craigslist for an incubator. I found a listing at Craigslist for an LG still air bator, some chick feeders and waterers and a homemade candler with free shipping. I called the number and after a little phone tag, talked to the guy and decided to buy it. The local feed store wanted 89 bucks for a Hovabator...so I figured I'd shell out the 60 for this used one. I thought about making a homemade one, but my time is limited between my two part time jobs, going to college F/T and taking care of things at home. Maybe in the future when things have settled down a bit.
So, it's on the way, but I am saving money by wiring in my own CPU fan that I got for free from a local computer store. I was able to find an old tranformer from something....but it was 12V DC, so it worked when I wired it. Yay!!
