Id say about 5 hours give or take. I worked on them in the evenings for about a week not counting draining the yolk and drying.

Your eggs are really beautiful. If you have time, could you explain how you got the "egg" out. I had a few I tried and ended up cracking most of them.

8, I have made an ornament every year since I met my husband, that's 18yrs! Married 11yrs! Now I have expanded to add my two Daughters and they look forward to Christmas each year and the highlight is their ornament from me. I usually base the design on what the highlight of the year has been. This year we are truly blessed with a beautiful home with land, and newbies to owning 8 sweet ducks. Creating a duck egg ornament is perfect! Can you tell me step by step how to do it? Especially getting the shell properly clean inside out and odor out and kill any potential germs! Thank you!
Hi "8" - thanks so much - I will try the nail and hammer. I had used a very small drill bit with pretty poor results. Soon as there are more eggs I will try your method. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
