Darn it!
I had to wait till my Ducky (really a goose) didn't develop the hump on the beak that the males have. I think they are brown chinese. Then she started laying and I was really sure. Unfortunately, they aren't fertile because although she thinks she is a chicken and won't have anything to do with the other geese, the roos aren't interested in her either!~

I am sorry to hear that they aren't purebreds. They sure are cute and now you know that you can hatch geese!

How awful that after all that, you weren't sold purebred eggs when that is what you ordered! :thun Is there anything you can do about it? If it were me, I'd want to....

Your babies look like my brown chinese did. Here is a picture when it was just a few days old.

I love the lil geese. I really wanted a breeding pair of embdens. These are my very first goose hatch ever and I am very excited over them. It is just a huge let down that they are not what I paid for. I have learned a hard lesson here. I hope you all learn from my mistake of not investigating further before sending off your hard earned money. I won't ever do this again. Lesson lived and learned.

Brings to mind a old saying "Buyer Beware"

Sorry for your disappointment MP, I think we have all had a few of these "bumps in the road".

Chalk your lesson up to expierience and at least you now have a goose hatching to add to your resume'.

I know it is a let down but it was a lesson for all us. Think of them as a test run. Here's hoping someone will send you some purebreds and you get what you were promised and paid for. They are cute .
