STILL waiting on the egg that should have hatched with Cookie. I had to externally pip it because it had been over 48 hours since the internal pip and I was getting nervous. He is still alive in there. At this rate I will not be surprised if the three I set a week later than him hatch first, as two of the three externally pipped last afternoon and the third is moving around like crazy.

Starfire i would think it wasent sore because the was tiny but i cant imagine them laying a huge egg! Haha that must hurt if it is so huge it cant get out !

Ok ive 8 eggs that are 26 days old and i was looking in the bator just for temp check and half the eggs were rocking and i was confused because i never saw eggs rocking this early! What does this mean byc buds!
These eggs are the AfricanXembden eggs and one of the other crosses

Yikes, that goose's booty is probably SO sore!

Can a goose or chicken make an egg so large is won't fit through the vent and either gets stuck or tears the vent?

Most of my chickens have that very issue with their very first egg. I always know when I've got a new one laying because there are streaks of blood on it. Their vent isn't ready for the large egg, so it really does tear it a little. But it clears up within a day or so, and before long they are laying lots of clean eggs.

It just means they are awake at that moment, and moving inside of the egg. That's all. I've had chicken eggs rock when they were just two weeks into incubation.

Keep an eye on that baby, that´s a long time, 48 hours. The hole that you made, can you see the membrane? is it full of veins still?

Oh good, I was having flashbacks to 1 of my 3 children's delivery when I tore and was like, what do I do for a chicken/goose?! I'm glad it doesn't get stuck or severely tear them up, I don't think they do C-sections for birds.

I can and it is. Baby has a lot of blood to absorb apparently. I really want him to be safe so I'm watching carefully.

I'm totally in love with him! Lol He's getting so independent and doesn't need me so much anymore

I'm down to 3 eggs and pretty sure one other is doing nothing. I want lots more Mooses!!
