Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Oosh! It took me about half an hour to catch up on those last 8 pages I've missed out on! I've forgotten half of it already!
Congrats to all the new babies :love and fingers crossed for all those due :fl
Really looking forward to seeing the donkeyling, can we have a pic of mummy donk to keep us going? :D pretty please?
My so called broody hen has given up for now apart from strutting around growling at everyone and pecking my legs! So unless there are any other volunteers there will be no goose eggs bought for the time being. Moose and MalcolmMyrtle are doing well together so no panic yet.

Your babies are absolutely ADORABLE!

henny moaning myrtle malcom maxy is growing its feathers faster then my babies and mine are 2 days older! But mine are bigger then lil Malcom but are only deveoping their feathers now?! (chip and 8)
Maybe it depends on the mix breed :/

Could be. Anything to do with being male/female? Mmmmm seems to be growing slower than Moose but Mmmmm has been outside for a while now and could just look smaller next to Moose.

Oh!!  In that top pic Moose looks more like a boy (wider cranium)!    MMMM is looking gorgeous.  Well, even if they´re two boys, MMMM is great company for Moose, so all´s well.  They´ll fine together for ages yet.
Shame about the potty chicken.  That´s chickens for ya!
MMMM is going to be gorgeous to look at!
You´ll have to keep telling him that beauty is on the inside!

Potty chicken sounds about right. Her mother is neurotic too! They were more of an experimental hatch. New incubator, let's see what happens when we cross all these chickens
She's pretty though so at least she has her looks, a bit like Mmmmm!

Haha i like MMMM

Ahem. It's Mmmmm actually! ;)

I do to makes ya want to hum when you say MMM. lol  and boy are they gorgeous too.

Mmmmm!

I think they're the most handsomest gooses that ever was! But that's just because I'm biased!

Well after all the is she or isn't she broody I think she finally is. I kept waiting for her to come outside so I could go in and scoop the poppy shaving out and finally I opened the door and there Missy sits on a real nest that she has made around her and the eggs. She had 8 as of yesterday. She was very upset with me.

Had a grey gosling hatch yesterday and very slow to recover from hatching so stayed in the incubator until totally dry and up walking. Had a white hatch this morning both are in a container now recovering from hatching. Pictures later.

Congrats!!

Im so excited, these will be my first babies of the year. Last year i had babies by March 23rd, so these are a little late

Well she has made a liar out of me again, she must have just stayed in her house laying her egg most of yesterday. Egg looks good and so does she. But I will not even say she is broody again until I see goslings

I quit guessing.

I need help this time.... how do you hobble goslings and does it go above or below the knee? I've got 3 that just aren't getting on their feet like they should

OMG!!!

So, I was just out back, playing with the hennies and geese (feed time is fun time)... And thought I'd be sneaky and steal one of Goosie's eggs, brought it inside and candled it.

Inside was...

WIGGLES?

That being said, I have NO idea how old these eggs are. We are storming like a mad dog, have yet to see Goosie actually sit for any period of time, so I wonder... Should I put them in the incubator, or let them go?

I put the egg back just in case...
