I can and it is. Baby has a lot of blood to absorb apparently. I really want him to be safe so I'm watching carefully.

Yes, well that´s already more advanced than when i caught mine. you can help it later by keeping the feathers really short, but I doubt you can do much to change it now.

Who is moaning myrtle?!
And the shivering head thing is for different reasons mostly if they are nervous or confused
So can anyone tell me what the head vibrating thing is all about? I've seen Moose doing it a few times then Moaning Myrtle did it earlier today.
Today I had all of my geese out. The younger 4 in a puppy playpen and the older 4 free in the yard. As soon as i brought the babies out and put them in the playpen the older geese ran over honking and did the shivering head thing, then tried to attack the babies through the bars of the playpen. It took 30 - 45 minutes to get them to stop! Once the older goslings stopped they all laid down and glared at the babies in the pen. Since I've never seen that before I thought the shivering head thing was a sign of aggression. I put my body between both sets of goslings and pushed the older ones away when the managed to get around me, so maybe i did confuse them. I did pet and cuddle the older goslings when they came up on their side of my body, pushed them away when they got around to the side of me next to the playpen. If I keep bring them all out together but separated by the playpen, will the older goslings accept the younger? The younger are supposed to be the mates of the older goslings, so it's kinda sad that the big goslings want to hurt the babies.
Oh dear. What an ordeal. We're they definitely attacking or just being over enthusiastic 'teenagers'? I'm still learning what Moose is telling me and sometimes he seems to be protective of me/Myrtle and other times he is quite rough.
Whatever their motives I would think once the little ones are closer matched in size they will be able to stick up for themselves and if they are opposite sexes, hormones will eventually take over!![]()
