I can´t say I´ve noticed my females making high noises, but then my females make more chatter noise than my males, which seems to be different to others people´s goslings.

Maybe babe´s a female? The promising bit is, they´re not making the same noises.

Looking forward to more pics... try to get the full goose showing a good full profile, head-to-toe.

That's funny because it's Babe that chatters the whole time he's/she's eating and when they get excited it's Toots that makes the high pitched honk that sound like her voice is changing. My dh just said wouldn't it be funny if we had it back wards on the sex and then he said but Toots is just to sweet to be a gander.. lol

Goslings go through all sorts of voice changes when they are 3-4 months old. Hard to say from your description what their genders may be. But I'll still stand firm on my guess that buff is girl and grey is boy based on their pictures.

I just went to your website and read that you have special needs geese! I have one too! After I read your entire page, I think I am going to have specific questions about the surgeries your geese went through.

You may have been the one that told me this , but someone told me that boys make a high pitch honks and girls make a lower honks. Forest is at 11 weeks and three weeks ago her voice started changing. she still makes all the cute baby sounds and then when she gets excited she honks like a donkey . sometimes her voice breaks and she makes this fluttering honking noise. I agree it is hard to tell the sex. especially with a "special" goose. she is getting very light which makes me wonder if she isnt going to end up being a gander with a lot of gray. i really dont care what she is . but i am hoping for a girl, i think you are right with it being hard on her leg if she is a boy with mating. trying to figure out the sex make ya kind of crazy.

Question: when they are adults, will they lose the pretty talking sounds that they make as babies? I will upload a video and tag you so you know what sounds i mean.


Off topic, but my friend and I were talking about Forest and he said " ya know andrea, you didnt have to get all these animals just to play Duck Duck Goose". It was cute the way he said it, so i am going to get the ducks to walk in a line outside and at the end of the line put Forest.... or maybe a circle . then i am going to edit it so it says "duck duck goose" and make it my avatar! this pic was taken this weekend. see how light Forest is getting.

The grey of the auto-sexing females is much lighter than other geese because of the dilute gene. Ought to be female. But then, ought to not have blue eyes!

That´s true... not reliable with the voices until older. I also think the Buff is very feminine-looking, and the Toulouse looks quite macho.... time well tell! But it´s a good game guessing meanwhile.

That´s true. My mom is 84 and still keeps up with my kids...even runs and goes for walks around the parks, and loves it.

What a precious gosling, she just seems so relaxed with you both, which is great since she needs care. My gosling sound just like her baby noises.
