Good advice! And infections can crop up quickly from many unexpected places.
However, unless someone has a compromised immune system, I doubt that peck would be a problem.
Rampant pathogens are precisely why we and other animals have immune systems.

As far as your cockerel is concerned, you are the only one who can decide how much nonsense you’re willing to put up with. Personally, I won’t keep a cockerel or rooster that’s not smart enough to figure out that I am the Bringer of Food and not a threat. I agree with Folly’s Place. If he’s stalking me, he’s not doing his job and protecting the hens from real threats.
