Got her today. Her Entire Flock was killed, and she was the only survivor.

RIRs: Yellow skin
Leghorns: Yellow skin and white earlobes

So she can't be a cross of the two.
I read that this cross will produce a cream colored hen with red leakage and an occasional black speckle. And they lay a light cream egg with a pink tinge. This describes her perfectly. Plus the rooster in the flock around the time she was hatched was a RIR and the hens in her original flock were white leghorns.

Pics included are of Tetra Tints.

Clean black legs
I am satisfied that she is the product of a RIR father and a white leghorn mother.
Both of those breeds have yellow legs.
Crossing them should never produce a chicken with black legs.
(Green legs may be possible, but very unlikely from those parent breeds.)

Other than the issue of leg color, I agree that your hen exactly fits the description for a cross of those two breeds.

Ughhh. This is frustrating. I like to know the breeds or crosses so we can know what to expect.

Today we finished putting together an Omlet coop, and stuck the new girl inside with the old girls after the flock had already gone to bed for the night. Wish me luck. Any words of wisdom for tomorrow morning when I let them out?
