The lighter ones are suppose to be Cameo and the darker ones are suppose to be Purple ... We hope so !

I always get mixed feelings when trying to sell my chicks and say what they are. Visually they are what you see, but they are so much more that you can not see. It is not like mixing paint as you get percentages of different appearing birds that when you breed them in certain ways will produce yet again different percentages of even different again colors. Hope that made sense...

Some of the offspring from Purples will appear Purple and some will appear India Blue. If in three years they don't appear Purple, when bred to Purple they will produce Purple, it is called a 'split' and only shows its true potential in the offspring.

For most people buying birds it is too much information to explain all this, they just want pretty birds.

The one up on the right looks cameo to me, the one on left looks india blue, and the one in the bottom could be purple.

KsKingBee ... I do understand and thanks for sharing! Makes sense..
Bottom line, I want healthy birds so if I can keep them healthy , strong and into old age I'll be pleased but beautiful Purple and Cameo colored peas would be a bonus!
