Got my bator, some questions.

QUESTION:
the temp has falen from 100.9
to 100.4..
is this normal? or what do i do if it continues to drop slightly like this?

they can go down and up a little for reasons known and unknown lol I am new someone may know more but I found that if I leave it alone for a bit it usually goes back up or back down.

Yea it' s pretty normal for variances within one to two degrees, just think of it as the hen shifting a leg or something

That won't hurt it. Very common.

okay good.
i have been turning them like i should be, and the temps and humidity is right, so how many should hatch?
the dads are an aracauna roo and a nhr roo, maybe a marans roo too
the hens can be comets, rhode island reds, new hampshire reds, black sex links, dominques, silver laced wyandottes.

id assume these are going to be some pretty birds, dont you say?

You can never say for sure how many will hatch. They are many things that can go wrong between then and now. Blood ring, infertitle, temp spike, they could develope well till day 18 then quit.
This being your first hatch you are lucking if 2 hatch.

hard to describe but you'll know it when ya see it - it is a reddish ring (blood) that is around or partially around the inside of the egg. If you have one it is pretty obvious usually that it is a blood ring.

do a google image search for "Blood Ring Chicken Egg" and you'll probably get some pics of them.

meri

time flys when ur havin fun
had to rewet the sponge today, so im gonna see how the humidity does.
