Got my coffee, a donut, and a happy song in my head....

How much snow did you get?

We, amazingly, still have only a dusting.

I only got one cup of coffee because my husband used the rest of the creamer!

I did, however, scarf down two poptarts. Bad me.

Poor baby. What was the final diagnosis?

The sinus/ear infection + strep just did him in. The strep didn't respond to the first antibiotic, which let it get into his lungs, but it did start to respond to the second, but it was just too late. But even if we had done an ER trip over the weekend, the strep already had the few days to try to get going in his lungs, we'd have been too late there also. Then since he was already fighting the other infections, it let the pneumonia get going well.

He didn't really need the tubes as we found out, but I'm not pissy about that in the least. People keep saying I should be, but geesh, they were worried he'd gotten MRSA going in his lungs, I'd rather put the tubes in and not really need them than not put them in and be planning a funeral today.

I absolutely agree with you. MRSA is nothing to be conservative with. I hope he is at 100% by Monday.

Any snow is to much for me. Looks likes it's melted now where the sun is. Thank the Lord. I still have a few things to put away. DW left a large can of Pumpkin on the counter I may warm it up for the birds and throw some scratch on top. I also have to of those commercial cans of creamed corn to use too. They like that.

Oh I forgot the front of the hoop coop is still open and no dead birds. Just thought I'd mention that for those afraid of the cold. I will cover it up though. Can't have snow getting in there.

I'm going to use a "clear" drop cloth so I can see inside. Plus toss in another bale of straw. This is just a pic of the run.

I like your hoop coop!

My six birds in the makeshift open-air summer coop are still alive. I did cover it up with plastic, finally.

It was 8 above here yesterday morning.

We ARE going to finish the new coop tomorrow. Really.

There are two vets in Phoenix, but Mahonri will be the expert.

He's at about 75% normal now. I'll go with that. He's still congested, little worse now with the tubes out, but he's improving, so the doctors aren't worried. As much as I want my little baby home, I'd rather him in the hospital to make sure he keeps improving.

We are having a little party with the NICU kids on Sunday for his birthday. Since his usual party is being delayed until I don't know when now, so we'll do this now and do a normal party when he's back to his usual self.

Is today chelle's wedding?

Gotta get leopard print on today!!

Glad he is doing better now.

Oh hoop coop!!

Maybe I can keep my surprise hatch chicks that are grils. Not sure if any are grils yet.

Yes, that would be grils. That's what GS says!

Missed everyone this weekend! Grant wanted me since he didn't get me for a few days, granted he had DH to himself for that time, 24 hours a day, but that's Daddy and I'm Mommy and Mommy is apparently vastly better.

He's feeling pretty good, sounds clear, gets tired if he does too much, but now he WANTS to do something other than sleep, so that's always a positive. Probably be home for 10-14 days before the doctor will say he's ok to go back to school. I'm fully an idiot, I think it's related to the chest tubes, recent nasty infections going and not wanting to expose him more than having 9 siblings will. I think that's what the issue is. I really don't understand. I'm just following doctor orders now.

Yes you should follow the doctors advice here. When you are really sick or recovering from an injury it does take a long time to fully recover. He may not think so but, he needs to rest and eat nutritionally for a couple of weeks. I'm glad he is doing well. He will get better quicker being home and away from the germ laden hospital.

P.S. of course he wants his mommy. My son is 23 and I'm still his first pick when he is sick or has a problem.

Man, I am still sick. I went to dr and got antibiotics, prednozone and inhaler, 3 days now, I have headache this morning, achy eyeballs again. I think I am really sick, I always think I am not sick. Good thing I have this week off.
Brrr, it is getting cold. I know, not as cold as most of you all, but still, no heat here, and it is 54* inside my house.
Can't wait to start making pies etc in couple days, that will warm things up.
Today I am going to cook a big ham, that'll warm it up a bit!!
