Grain Free Chicken Feed?

I want to raise day old chicks to butcher when they get older for cat food, I've been told cats should eat grain free chicken, is there a grain free diet for chickens homemade or Comercial?

I'm willing to be that you were told your cats should be eating "grain-free", which does not mean that the meat that makes up your cat's diet must be raised without consuming grain. The "grain" is not transmitted via the meat to the cat.

No people are actually telling me to get organic, grain free chicken, free - range, grass fed and whatever words people wanna throw at me lol.

I'll just feed the grain, anything is better than the death food known as kibbe.

I find live is cruel, cats play with their food to much. I want to raise the chicks for a month or so and then prepare them for freezer.

I honestly don't care about breed, just want a breed that is economical & that grows fast. What would you recommend?

A meat breed, Cornish Cross grow the fastest I think and are the most economical pound for pound but they are also known as Frankenbirds for a reason, their growth is so rapid all they do is eat and lay around sometimes their limbs don't exactly grow at the same rate... You could look, if your bothered by the CCs overbreeding, at slower growing meat breeds like dark Cornish... But I raise dual purpose heritage birds and that's about all I know about meat birds. At a month there's not much to mine at all
This ones 2 months
400

Just to give you an idea of size. He's maybe half a pound to a 1 pound.

I've been looking at the Cornish x white Rock or whatever and they seem like the best way to go, and I'm sure after raising these from babys I'll want to keep some what is a good layer/ pet breed that isn't loud?

Also is there a way to tell if the Cornish x is about to have a heart attack or anything? Cause if there was a way to tell that its close to death I could butcher it and freeze it.

I have experiance breeding reptile food, for reptile food you pumped co2 to kill them, I see for chickens they break the neck of cut the head off which do you think is more humane?

Oh debating how to kill chickens... personally axe, that's mine it looks gross but its fast... And we know how to do it.
Not sure about the heart attack thing, I would think a dis coloured comb would show a lack of oxygenation in the blood maybe predicting heart attack... But you could butcher it for your cats if it dies of natural causes and you find it soon enough... I butchered and ate a chicken recently that was killed by a dog...
I don't find hens noisy just the roos... hens are pretty quiet unless scarred ( mostly ) but somebody else might know more about a quiet breed... For pet status chickens, my buff Orpington's are pretty friendly and generally calm... Also good layers and a meaty size.
