Jeria, it's looking great! I'm glad you are screening your ventilation gaps at the top of the coop (by the roof). I just recently had a big ole raccoon make it's way into one of my coops that way. It injured my rooster enough that he died the next day.
Also, had a possum get into another coop, but didn't attack anyone. That coop had security screen in all but 1 place. That is of course, where the possum came in.

Yep, another must do chore! I have been thinking about the goat shed i want to build. Looks like it needs to be about 10x20! Hay storage, unless i get a pole barn or car port type thing.

How sad. They can get into the smallest spaces somehow. I'm coon paranoid since they invaded my attic a couple years ago. I have spent lots of time figuring out the predator proofing. I am re-doing the latches on one door because I need 2 not one for safety. Right now a couple of roofing nails are substituting

Thanks. Plans for working on the run this 3 day weekend were hijacked by some family issues, kid's dad (ex) but I needed to support my girls and catching up on some much needed yard work on Sat. chicks are doing fine in their coop and am anxious to get them outside as well. Time to tackle my day.

Finally will be back at working on the run and getting a roost up this weekend, life simply in the way the past 2 weekends. The chicks are finding their big girl voices, liking fermented feed and dandelion greens, the coop is full of feathers as the acquire more adult ones. and of course growing.

Man i thought my Pullets would never stop dropping those little feathers all over the place !

The "dust" from the incoming feathers is what drove me nuts!

Oh I would love a Guinea but too loud for small back yard. I will get one when I have a farm though !

No real work done. on the run. Lots of rain overnight last night. I've had a rough couple weeks mentally at work and personally from old issues re-surfacing. I rather crashed and burned yesterday, that happens sometimes and I have to give myself permission to be a non-thinking person for a day and give my brain a rest. I will re-coup this week and go from there.
